Caring for baby

Bathing your baby
Bathing is something else you’re going to spend a lot of time doing, so it pays to be prepared. Here’s a list of some do’s and don’ts to follow when it comes to baby bathing:
- Whichever kind of baby bath, bath seat or bath support you use, never, leave your baby unattended in the bath. Have everything you need for your bath ready in advance: towels, toiletries, clean nappy, pyjamas. If someone knocks at the door or the phone rings and you feel you must answer it, scoop them up in a towel and take them with you.
- Put cold water in the bath first, then hot. This will reduce the risk of scalding your baby.
- Make the family bath safe: put in a rubber bath mat and cover the taps.
- Why not choose something from our Asda Little Angels range to keep your baby smelling fresh and beautiful. Choose from a selection of products including Head to Toe wash and Conditioning Shampoo specially formulated for delicate skin.
- For newborns and babies up to six months old, fill the bath with about five inches of water, or enough to allow your baby to settle in the water with his shoulders well covered. Never fill the bath more than waist-high (in sitting position) for older children.
